9.PNG

OpenZone is a scientific campus open to the exchange of knowledge and the sharing of ideas with a lot of stories to tell. Labs & more gives a voice to the companies that are part of the community and gives visibility to research and innovation projects born here.

Purpose of the solution

Labs & more gives a voice to the companies that are part of the OpenZone community and gives visibility to research and innovation projects born here.

Impact

During 2021 OpenZone shared research stories born within its labs, thanks to the amazing images shot by the photographer Luca Rotondo. Labs & more is a project spread both inside and outside the campus through an internal newsletter read by more than 1,000 people, published within the OpenZoneTabloid and shared through OpenZone's social media accounts, gaining more than 7,000 page views on OpenZone.it and creating two possible business opportunities among some campus enterprises who were intrigued by the projects told. Furthermore, the thousands of readers of the Italian edition of MIT Technology Review also can read the Labs & more inspiring stories and admire their pictures on technologyreview.it. In addition, this photographic project allowed the OpenZone laboratories to be seen from an artistic perspective, because science is also art.

What is innovative about it?

Have you ever seen science as an art? The aim of Labs & more was precisely to tell the stories of innovation and research within OpenZone by harnessing the power of images, making it more appealing, more accessible, and even more interesting to a larger audience.

Who are the main users?

Labs & more is an initiative designed for the almost 900 people who live OpenZone every day and for the broad Italian and international community in the world of life sciences and innovation.

Who runs it?

The project was conceived and developed by the Corporate Affairs and Institutional Relations division of the Zambon Group, which leads the communications activities of OpenZone.
